During the procedure, small incisions will be made in specific locations, depending on the type of procedure being performed, this may be in the upper eyelid or the lower lid. The excess skin will then be removed to create a tighter and smoother appearance and the incision will then be closed.
The procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic. During the consultation your surgeon will discuss what they believe would be the best anaesthetic for you.
The surgery can take up to 2 hours to perform. After the surgery you will be likely to return home however, you will need to carefully follow aftercare steps laid out to you by your surgeon to ensure optimal healing.
In some situations, you may be required to stay in hospital overnight.
